The appropriate amount to feed depends mainly upon the age of your kitten. Guidelines on how much to feed are provided on each bag and can of Hill’s kitten foods; these are based on kittens of average weight. For breeds that can be significantly different, e.g. Siamese, Maine Coon, some adjustment of these amounts should be made.

If you weigh your kitten every week and record the weight it will possible to check his/her progress against an ideal growth chart for the breed and adjust the amount of food accordingly. If you have any doubts, consult your vet.
